WE CARE ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

We're committed to leading the industry in minimizing our impact on the Earth and its resources. We take every step to make sure we are producing great products in the most environmentally conscious ways possible.

PLANT-BASED FOR THE PLANET

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction.

It takes the equivalent of 50 bathtubs of water to produce 1lb of steak.

Choosing plant-based options is the most significant thing that you can do to reduce your footprint.

WASTE DIVERSION

We have partnered with a local waste collection agency that specializes in organics and recycling programs. They ensure that any waste produced in the production of our meals is responsibly diverted from landfills and transformed into resources whenever possible - like feeding our organic food scraps to animals! We’re able to track our results and C02 diversion equivalents for our facility to meet our program goals.

ENERGY CONSERVATION

We are committed to minimizing the energy used in our kitchen facility which is powered by 100% green electricity. We also use ENERGY STAR certified products, using programmable timers, taking advantage of natural light, and programmable thermostats. Preserving our resources is a value that resonates with our staff who have participated in conservation training, and actively participate in ensuring that our standards are met. We use an accredited program to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities.

EARTH-FRIENDLY PACKAGING

Our packaging is made from renewable materials such as corn, not petroleum. This means that it will decompose faster than conventional plastic packaging.

We ensure that we only use packaging which meets ASTM D6400 compostable standards and that is ECOLOGO certified. Along with this, we will only purchase FSC certified, unbleached paper, which is used for our customers invoices and paper towels for our facility.

Most municipalities in Ontario are set up to compost our packaging. If you’re in Toronto, place our packaging in the garbage (not the compost) as the city cannot compost it at this time. Be sure to check with your local municipality on how to properly dispose of our meal containers in your area. If you are recycling the packaging please wash first to ensure proper recycling.
